Plants / Tissue Tests:

What you can’t see can hurt your plants and ruin your season. Test for pests and pathogens on incoming plants and throughout the season.

DBS Plant Tissue Analytical Methods

Pest ID $150

  • Plant: Get all incoming clones and new plants tested to protect your farm before contaminating your crop. Be sure to monitor throughout the season & for acute infestation.
  • Grow/Bloom: Test suspicious plant material. Get confirmation or a second opinion on what you may have.  Make sure you know if you have a pest before it’s too late.
  • This includes a pest ID, report, pest informational sheet, and extraction
  • Includes transport to UC Extension (if needed) for further identification

Plant Tissue Nutrient Test $115

  • Identifies any nutrient deficiencies or toxicities in your plant tissue before you see them. Avoid nutrient lockout so your plant can get all that it needs.
  • Measures plant nutrients, including Macronutrients: Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, Nitrate, Phosphate; * Micronutrients: Iron, Copper, Manganese, Zinc
  • Combine with a Soil and/or Complete Water Test to ensure the available nutrients in your soil are getting to your plant

Water Tests:

DBS Water Analytical Methods

  • It’s good to know what’s in your water before you feed it to you plants; hard water locks out nutrients.

Water Hardness $40

  • Includes: pH, EC, Calcium, Magnesium
  • EPA water hardness designation

Complete Water Test $115

  • Includes: pH, EC; Macro and Micro Nutrients
  • Includes EPA water hardness designation
  • Combine with a Soil and/or Tissue Test to ensure the available nutrients in your soil are getting to your plant

External Lab Tests:

Advanced Biological Soil Panel $300

  • Ensure that your soil has the beneficial biology it needs to thrive
  • Combat potential pathogens by keeping your beneficial biology in line
  • Identifies total and active fungi and bacteria, including nematodes and protozoa
  • Quantify – exact numbers of organisms in your soil or compost
  • Best when coupled with a Compost Tea Plan

Soil Pesticide Test $250

  • Pre-Plant: Ensure the genetics that you are growing are clean before you plant. A must for incoming moms and babies.
  • Can identify up to 70 pesticides
  • Reveals minimal residual pesticide levels which are the detection limits  (parts per billion)
  • 2018 Compliant

Tissue Pesticide Test $250

  • Pre-Plant: Ensure the genetics that you are growing are clean before you plant. A must for incoming moms and babies.
  • Can identify up to 70 pesticides
  • Reveals minimal residual pesticide levels which are the detection limits  (parts per billion)
  • 2018 Compliant

Plant Pathology Test $300

Identifies any fungal, bacterial, or viral diseases that could be attacking your plants.

  • Assessment for plant diseases (Fungal, bacterial, viral) using microscopy and plating
  • Note: This is not a test for soil – you don’t need a pathology test for your soil, as your results would be inconclusive.
